The Clock Tower is a Grade I listed belfry in St Albans, England which was constructed between 1403 and 1412, believed to have been completed in 1405. It has been claimed to be the only remaining medieval town belfry in England, and was initially built as a protest against the power of the local abbey.

Clock Tower/former Water Tower of the old Balderton Hospital site, that has now been transformed into the new parish of Fernwood. The clock tower is a wonderful piece of architecture and along with the old hall building are all that remain of the once extensive hospital site.

  • This originally was an institution for people with mental health problems the clock tower housed the chimneys for the on site laundry, going Evan further back it was a mansion in its own private grounds, before the government took over and the facility was built
